I SIT
ALONE IN MY BED
NO LIGHT
ONLY DARKNESS
EATING CHEETOS
ETERNAL SUFFERING
WATCHING, TRUE BLOOD

In fact, “atheism” is a term that should not even exist. No one ever needs to identify himself as a “non-astrologer” or a “non-alchemist.” We do not have words for people who doubt that Elvis is still alive or that aliens have traversed the galaxy only to molest ranchers and their cattle. Atheism is nothing more than the noises reasonable people make in the presence of unjustified religious beliefs.

Sam Harris (Letter to a Christian Nation)

If atheism can be called a belief, can I say that my not collecting stamps is a hobby?

Anon.

While we have all the flaws concomitant with being children of chance, we also have an advantage: we’re free. There is no cosmic fiddler. There is no domineering father in the sky who has a mission for us, who decreed at our birth that there is something we must do with our lives, who has slotted you into one specific role without your consent.

”Design vs. Chance’ by PZ Myers

A magnificent lecture by one of my favorite biologist PZ Myers. In this lecture he pick apart “The Designer” theory by showing how weak it is when it come to logical debat.

Its about 46 min long, but it’s well worth it.

If you’re reading this and its the weekend, you have the time to watch this.

This is the trailer for the acclaimed “Creation”, a film about charles darwin and the writing of “The Origin of Species”.  if you’d like to see this film, hopefully you dont live in the US, because it wont be shown due to controversy.  In fucking 2009!!!!!!!

Creation, starring Paul Bettany, details Darwin’s “struggle between faith and reason” as he wrote On The Origin of Species. It depicts him as a man who loses faith in God following the death of his beloved 10-year-old daughter, Annie.

The film was chosen to open the Toronto Film Festival and has its British premiere on Sunday. It has been sold in almost every territory around the world, from Australia to Scandinavia.

However, US distributors have resolutely passed on a film which will prove hugely divisive in a country where, according to a Gallup poll conducted in February, only 39 per cent of Americans believe in the theory of evolution.

Movieguide.org, an influential site which reviews films from a Christian perspective, described Darwin as the father of eugenics and denounced him as “a racist, a bigot and an 1800s naturalist whose legacy is mass murder”. His “half-baked theory” directly influenced Adolf Hitler and led to “atrocities, crimes against humanity, cloning and genetic engineering”, the site stated.
