Synopsis:
Following much preparation, Peter and Lorna are given an address. In the dead of night, they pull off the lonely road and await further instructions. Soon they part with their clothes and belongings. After they shower and clean themselves thoroughly, they are blindfolded and whisked to an undisclosed location, where they descend into a basement. Once downstairs, they perform the complicated handshake and are able to gain entry into the group. With that, the young couple, who have been posing as believers, successfully infiltrate the cult’s inner sanctum and meet enigmatic leader Maggie, portrayed by the promising Brit Marling (also cowriter and producer). What follows is a delicately paced and riveting plunge into a psychological maelstrom of uncertainty and danger.
I Just found out about this gem thanks to A Quiet Earth. You can watch the first 12 min. of the film on it’s official website; which I highly recommend. Sound of My Voice is set for a limited release on April 27.

B-Movie: A Film About The Art Of Banksy
A fantastic mini-doc about Bankys art. It’s short, and sweet, and to the point.
The B-Movie is a fourteen minute mini documentary about the infamous street artist Banksy and how he started out as a graffiti writer. Banksy has really launched off heavily this year, he has a movie out, art exhibits that make over 100k a show. He has made numerous achievements that hit the media and til this day only a hand full of people know his real identity. The documentary features Interviews with 3D of Massive Attack, Damien Hirst, some of his friends and many more.
I have yet to see Thierry Guetta’s “Exit Thought The Gift Shop” which is nominated for an Oscar for best documentary this year. Will Banksy show up to accept his award if he wins? Will he be disguised? Some people are speculating that Banksy is actually James Franco. WUT?
Asher: If they don’t let him accept in person, how is Franco supposed to do the big reveal on his longest-running performance art piece? WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE HOW MANY D*CKS BANKSY HAS

I forgot how much I love the classic monster movie. What set this one apart from the rest is Bacon and Wards character in the film. Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemistry.
Talk about anticipation. Ever since I heard about Darren Aronofsky’s latest project, Black Swan, I’ve been impatiently waiting for it. Now that the first chilling trailer (see here) has been released, that anticipation has grown tenfolds. Starring Natalie Portman, Black Swan is a film about ballet, with a hinge of supernatural and raw greatness we have come to love from Aronofsky’s work. The Wrestler was one of my favorite films of 2008 and I definitely can’t wait to sit through this - Kafkaesque? - nightmare.
Holy shit this looks amazing! I’ll be keeping an I out for this one. I mean come on, Natalie Portman makes out with Mila Kunis. But besides that it really looks like a great Psychological thriller.
“Exit Through the Gift Shop, the first film by renowned graffiti artist Banksy, became the hottest ticket at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival where it made its world debut. Banksy is a graffiti artist with a global reputation whose work can be seen on walls from post—hurricane New Orleans to the separation barrier on the Palestinian West Bank. Fiercely guarding his anonymity to avoid prosecution, Banksy has so far resisted all attempts to be captured on film. Exit Through the Gift Shop tells the incredible true story of how an eccentric French shop keeper turned documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner with spectacular results. The film contains exclusive footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Invader and many of the worlds most infamous graffiti artists at work, on walls and in interview. As Banksy describes it, Its basically the story of how one man set out to film the un—filmable. And failed”
Hell Yes! Its coming to L.A on April 16th @ The Arclight Theater in Hollywood . This month is full of win.

How to describe Nobuhiko Obayahshi’s 1977 movie House? As a psychedelic ghost tale? A stream-of-consciousness bedtime story? An episode of Scooby Doo as directed by Dario Argento? Any of the above will do for this hallucinatory head trip about a schoolgirl who travels with six classmates to her ailing aunt’s creaky country home, only to come face to face with evil spirits, bloodthirsty pianos, and a demonic housecat. Too absurd to be genuinely terrifying, yet too nightmarish to be merely comic, House seems like it was beamed to Earth from another planet. Or perhaps the mind of a child: the director fashioned the script after the eccentric musings of his eleven-year-old daughter, then employed all the tricks in his analog arsenal (mattes, animation, and collage) to make them a visually astonishing, raucous reality. Never before released in the United States, and a bona fide cult classic in the making, House is one of the most exciting genre discoveries in years. (Via. New Beverly Cinema)
Thanks BK for the share, who’s also a proud owner of a man eating PIANO
“Back when I wrote my review of Pearry’s Necromentia, I talked about how it had one of the “most surreal, f’ed up moments in film I have ever seen”, and that’s a bouncy ball sing along song. Well now, you get to see for yourself, thanks to the permission someone gave me (whom I’m not allowed to name). Unfortunately the film is not available in the US, but you can buy a R2 from the UK. And here’s the full trailer.”
